Oskar von Roggenbucke (1811-Jan.1883), soldier, farmer, born in Warnstadt, close to Braunschweig. Attained the rank of major in the Prussian army, but in 1848 resigned his commission to join in the Revolution. He came to Texas in 1854 as a political refugee and settled, after a sojourn in New Braunfels, on a farm near Comfort, Texas, where he remained for the rest of his life. During the Civil War he showed his sympathies for the Union side; his two step sons joined a group of Germans who set out for Mexico with the intention of joining the Northern fighting forces, but both lost their lives before the troop reached Mexico.

Found in a forum that Helena, the wife of Edgar von Roggenbucke had the last name of Goetz instead of von Kotzebue. My source for this is this info.
